How do I put a file as an “Audiobook” on the Ipod?

I downloaded some audiobooks but i cant put them in the “Audiobook” section. I can only put them in the “Songs” section. how do i put the audiobook into the audoibook section instead of the songs section? thanks

the easiest way is to convert the files to AAC format (you can do this in itunes by changing the importer in the preferences > advanced. Importing tab to AAC. Then select the files you want to convert and choose “Convert Selection to AAC” in the advanced menu.) then change the file extension on the individual files from .m4a to .m4b. You’ll most likely need to re-import the songs after you change the extension, but this time they should appear in he audiobooks playlist.

There are some apps, like audiobook builder ( http://www.splasm.com/ ), that basically do this for you, and can do more advanced things, like tag AAC files for chaptering, but I haven’t personally tried any of them.
